THE MOMENT IN THE MOVEMENT
DANCE PHOTOGRAPHY IN SURREY
“DANCING IS CREATING A SCULPTURE THAT IS VISIBLE ONLY FOR A MOMENT.” EROL OZAN
Are you a dancer looking for images that capture the unique moments of the art you’ve worked so hard to perfect? Perhaps for an audition or simply to create a lasting memory of your talent and passion at its very best.
Or does your dance school need a portfolio of images for your website and marketing? Images that capture the essence of the art your school creates and the dancers you inspire.
Maybe you’re preparing for a performance and need a professional behind the lens to make sure you capture the key moments for posterity. Moments that can be treasured forever by your dancers, and their families?
I’ve worked with a wide range of dancers, dance schools and dance companies, and developed the skills and knowledge to turn the magic, the art and the emotions I witness into the beautiful images you deserve.

WHAT I OFFER
I’m a classically trained studio photographer who became enchanted by the magic of dance photography. The fluidity of movement and the challenge of capturing each dancer in one perfect moment, and then another, and another.
Since embarking on this unexpected creative adventure, I’ve learnt from the best in the business – going to Paris to learn from New York dance photographer, Rachel Neville.
Whether your passion is for modern, tap, ballet or contemporary, I can work with you to create high quality, unique images that showcase the energy, emotion and artistry of your craft.
WHY WORK WITH ME?
Using cutting edge techniques and equipment I create unique and inspiring shots that convey the magic you, or your dancers, create – either in the studio or on stage.
But just as important as my experience and skill as a photographer is the time I take to build a relationship with you, to understand who you are and what you’re looking for.
I’m dedicated to capturing not just the movements, but also the essence of dance. It’s the emotion, energy and spirit that make dance a truly transformative art form.

THE PROCESS
HOW IT WORKS
1. THE PREPARATION
My job is to produce images that paint a picture, tell a story or record your performance. The preparation to achieve that will differ depending on the type of shoot.
Either way I’ill sit down with you beforehand to agree exactly what you’re looking for, to get a feel for what inspires you, and to walk you through what will happen during your shoot.

2. THE SHOOT
A key part of our preparation will be finding the right location for your shoot. If you book me to take photos for your portfolio, I can reserve a studio or the shoot can take place at a location of your choice.
For performances, I’ll attend your dress rehearsal or live performance and set up beforehand to make sure I capture the best angles.
If you book a photo day for your dance school, I’ll join you for the day to take individual and group photos. My set-up – a spacious white backdrop & studio-quality lighting – allows for up to 30 people to be photographed at one time.
3. EDITING AND VIEWING
Only the best photos are presented to you, cleaned up and edited for clarity and colour for you to review.
You’ll be sent a password protected link to view your images online which, for dance schools and dance companies, can be sent on to your dancers and their families. From there you can review your favourite images, and makes purchases to be delivered.
After all orders have been placed, dance schools and dance companies will receive a selection of digital images to use in promotional materials both in print or online.

4. PRINTING & DELIVERY OF YOUR IMAGES
I use one of the best professional photographic laboratories in the country to process and print your chosen images. Their work is of the highest standards but I also personally check all prints before they’re packaged up and sent to you.
